Bosco has been having a love affair with music for a very long time.  I remember the first time I really immersed myself into BOSCOland was when I was finishing my last quarter at the SCAD Atlanta campus.  Yes.  Bosco went to SCAD.  One of the most critically acclaimed schools for the creatively inclined.  And she is just that.

Creatively inclined.  Creatively blessed.  Creatively consumed.

Creative.  Period.

Her vocal talents equal if not surpass her mental creative aptitude.  Her work ethic is unreal.  She pretty much never sleeps.  The thought of her dream of having a permanent relationship with music, slipping away, is just unacceptable.

When I visited her in Atlanta in August, Ira G, Bosco and myself stayed up until almost 3am on the eve of her Pacer EP release trying to figure out the perfect order to the album.  She didn’t want to sleep until it was done right.

Which brings me to my next point.  Bosco is pretty much not sleeping because her Kickstarter “BOSCO Needs a Tour” Campaign goal has not been reached and there are less than 72 hours left to go.  She plans on touring everywhere and plays with an INCREDIBLE live band.  That’s a lot of people to room and board let alone to get on a plane.  And don’t forget that equipment!

The fact is, they deserve this.  And you deserve to feel good knowing you helped a dream materialize into a reality.  Not only will you feel good about this, but with each donation, you receive something in return.  For example, free download of the EP, bonus songs, personal chat via SKYPE with BOSCO herself, hang out in person with the band (they are willing to travel up to 200 miles away from Atlanta to meet you).  The list just goes on.

I couldn’t wait to pick up a few items that I’ve had my eye on.  I got the magnetic nail polish by Nails Inc. London!!!!!!

I also picked up this AMAZING palette by Sephora that has 12 shades of lipgloss, 33 eyeshadows, 3 cream eyeliners, 4 shades of blush, and two shades of bronze powder!!!!!!  This is the medium “shopping bag palette” and it’s $24.

I had a few points racked up and I got a tube of Miracle Worker Dark Spot Corrector.  Also for my birthday, they threw in a few free gifts!

Also, I decided to get a fresh approach to my makeup and a look that will be a little extra special for my birthday party on Saturday.

Victoria, the sales associate/makeup artist, and I had so much fun playing around with different looks.  I love how she highlighted my cheeks with not one but two types of blush!  She used Sephora’s cream blush with their powder blush on top.  She also used Laura Mercier highlighting powder and a champagne/yellow tinted eyeshadow.  The lipstick is by Makeup Forever in #15 (which I loved but they ran out!).  Here is a closeup when I got home.

I walked into this heaven on earth the other day to see what’s new in the beauty world.  A rockabilly chica helped me look at 2-in-1 blush sticks and stains and then she showed me the new Nails Inc. London line they just began carrying this year.

Nails Inc. London came out with the most fabulous nail art effect I have seen to date;  MAGNETIC NAIL POLISH!!!!!  The lady who was showing me around did a little demonstration on my finger and I was hooked.  Here’s a tutorial for you to watch.  You’re going to love this one!!!!

This is a great way to add a little nail art without spending much time on your nails.  It’s great when you’re in a hurry, and you need something quick and simple but that looks like you spent hours on it!

This 1960's Dusty Rose Velvet French Provincial Repro Mini Wingback: I added a little stuffing, tightened the springs and reupholstered the bottom with fresh burlap and refinished the legs.

Set of two Naugahyde Butter Yellow Studded Arm Chairs: Brought these two back to life! Naugahyde needed some work and refinished the wood

Pair of Oak Lounge Chairs: Orange wool inlaid into backrest and new upholstered seat with new 2 inch foam!

IN PROGRESS: This is a 1960's dining table that I am sanding down and refinishing. It will have the original butter yellow sides with a creamy white glossy top with a cherry red border. It stands on elegant steel legs.

Vintage Letter Press Drawer: A personal project of mine

It's going to be a jewelry display case for my trunk shows! I cut out and glued in wool felt into all the squares...

And then I'm going to add plexi with a hinge, two locks, a nice handle and sew a felt zipcase for travel! Finished product photos to come this week. You can see the finished product in Burbank this weekend at the Vintage Clothing & Textile Show!

The same day we moved in to our SF apartment, I couldn’t wait to unpack.  I unpacked over half of our boxes, hung up all of our clothes and loaded the dishwasher with our (small) assortment of china.  It was like the first day of school, you stay up all night getting your outfit together so that when the sun rises in the morning…you are ready to start your new life.  I didn’t go to bed until almost 4am.

We started out with almost nothing, and now it’s bursting at the seams with curiosities.  I love it.  Living with a man in the house, you have to make it work; meshing masculine and feminine together isn’t impossible.  I think our apartment is just as much mine as it is his.
