Pretty sweet huh? Check out how cute the 1970’s Credenza Bookshelf looks in Shannon’s apartment.

This is definitely one of my favorite pieces (besides the Knoll, of course).

Lastly, checkout Terrill’s dreamy New York apartment reading nook, featuring a sun ray wall clock from our shop!

I am always so pleased to see how furniture from the shop takes on a life of its own after it leaves my hands. ¬†I strongly believe that just because it’s old, doesn’t mean furniture is dead. ¬†It just needs another chance to live on. ¬†And that’s what I’m here for. ¬†If you have bought a piece of furniture from me, please shoot me an email with a photo of it in your house (email is on the home page).

In other news, I will be at Fairfax Flea at The Garage in downtown Fairfax this Saturday!  We had so much fun last time that I had to do it again.

Deeeeelish!

SHOPPING: What’s New In The Shop! Plus Weekend Adventures!

It’s been a little while, I know. ¬†I haven’t forgotten about you!

We’ve got lots of goodies in store for you ladies and gents!

Lots of home decor is to be had lately. ¬†We just completed listing all the 1960’s movie theater marquee letters A-Z and they are going like hot cakes, you better get your hands on a few! ¬†They are just only $8 each! ¬†If you buy more than 5, they will be only $5 each!

Check out our decorating and furniture section on Etsy.

The ultimate sweater collection will be going up day by day, so make sure you stay tuned! ¬†And yes, once the Christmas season rolls around, you better bet your grandma’s knitting skills that we will have plenty of ugly Christmas sweaters to go around! ¬†They are so hideous, you will love it. ¬†Here are a few sweaters that are already in the shop.

Yellow Color Block Cable Knit Sweater

Tomato Red Granny Button Down Sweater

Open Weave Handmade Crochet Sweater

New Old Stock White Preppy School Yard Sweater

Also in stock, we just got in 10 pairs of size 7.5 vintage women’s shoes!!!!

Check out our shoe section on Etsy!

Check out these SUPER RARE shoes, the product of a Leon Unatin and Joseph Magnin collaboration back in the 1960’s.

My homegirl Alexandra, aka The Tsaritsa, and I went on a little adventure over the weekend too!  We went across the bay to Tiburon to the annual NOOD sponsored by Sperry.  It was so fab; being on the water watching the boats go by and interviewing folks from Sperry and Sailing World was so much fun!

We stopped and had lunch, enjoying¬†paninis, coffe and¬†cappuccinos¬†(my fave). ¬†After a hard days work we took the ferry back to Fisherman’s Warf and shot a few pics of some new merch for JJV.

ALL these bikes were on the ferry on the way back…over 250 bikes! ¬†YIKES!

DIY Furniture: Mid Century Love Seat FINISHED!

I just finished my very first love seat. ¬†And I’m so proud of it! ¬†It came as a set with two matching armchairs, however I plan on¬†reupholstering¬†those with different fabric (bright orange vinyl). ¬†Don’t worry, when I finish them I will post pics!!

Take a peek at my latest finished product!

I loved this fabric so much I bought all they had left at the store. I’m glad I did! It’s wool fabric that is used to make suit jackets…but I think it looks better on a couch.

I love how I got the stripes to flow down the seat. YUM.

The arm rests are the kicker for me. Solid walnut!? Yes please!!!!

I finished the sides off with these awesome brass studs!!!!

What do you think!?

You can purchase this lovely little couch HERE.

NEWS: JJV on An Orange Moon! Plus Exclusive Photos!

To me, our home is our sanctuary.  You have to put love into it to get love out.  Nesting is what comes natural to most humans; claiming your space and putting your seal of approval down for all your guests to see.  I just tend to take it to another level.

The same day we moved in to our SF apartment, I couldn’t wait to unpack.¬† I unpacked over half of our boxes, hung up all of our clothes and loaded the dishwasher with our (small) assortment of china.¬† It was like the first day of school, you stay up all night getting your outfit together so that when the sun rises in the morning…you are ready to start your new life.¬† I didn’t go to bed until almost 4am.

We started out with almost nothing, and now it’s bursting at the seams with curiosities.¬† I love it.¬† Living with a man in the house, you have to make it work; meshing masculine and feminine together isn’t impossible.¬† I think our apartment is just as much mine as it is his.

And now this brings me to our first ever apartment feature!  Lynne McDaniel from An Orange Moon in Chicago, IL has put our design aesthetic front and center on her blog!  You can read the article HERE.

If you’re in Chicago, don’t forget to stop by An Orange Moon to check out Lynne’s amazing stock of Mid Century furniture and decorating doodads.¬† You will have to pick your jaw off the floor more than once.¬† I promise.
